Alexander Springs, Florida

Alexander Springs is a natural spring in Central Florida, fifty-seven miles from Orlando in the Ocala National Forest. The admission fee was twelve dollars a person, but the cost of admission was totally worth it! One should ensure they visit early in the day because they close at five-thirty PM.

This spring pumps seventy-five gallons of seventy-two-degree water from its source, which makes it swimmable year-round. However, we found the water a bit cool for our taste because the air temp was only 75 degrees and cloudy on the day we visited! We worked up the courage, and I finally took the plunge!! The water felt so cold that it made my teeth chatter!
The experience was breathtaking as we were surrounded by crystal-clear water and little fish.
