A Day at the Dog Park

My First Trip to a Dog Park

Sometimes I simply forget that I am a dog. My people pack is usually my only company. Today, my human mommy took me to a dog park. When we arrived at the park, there were two other dogs inside the gate. One of the other dogs, greeted me politely and the other one started nipping at me and tried to wrestle me to the ground. His owner said, “He’s just trying to play.” I ran away as fast as I could. I spotted my human mom and hid behind her legs. It was pretty scary, but my human mommy wasn’t scared. His owner apologized and removed him from the park. I continued to meet and greet the other dog in the park, when suddenly a couple of new dogs joined the pack. It was really fun then, ‘cause everyone started playing together. I wanted to join in the fun. When it was time to go home, my human mommy put a blanket over the seat. I think she wanted me to be extra cozy. I did hear her say, “Lucy, you are very muddy and you smell bad!” I wonder if that means that I was such a good girl at the dog park.
