I love my four month old Labradoodle puppy to death. She is the smartest, softest, most lovable dog we have every owned. She is also the loudest!
When I was a little girl I use to love watching the “Lassie” Show. Lassie was my hero! I loved watching her tell Timmy about each and every problem they encountered. Lassie would bark and Timmy would say “What’s the matter girl?” Lassie would bark again and lead Timmy to the current problem. I used to think, “Wow, what a cool dog! She talks to her people.”
That was then, but this is now! Our sweet Doodle girl barks. She barks a lot. She says, “Play with me. Feed me. Pet me. Take me outside. There’s someone at the door. I am scared of that.” Plus, she says lots of things I just can’t quit translate yet. I am not sure, but I am beginning to think that she just likes to hear the sound of her own voice.
I wonder if Timmy ever felt like saying, “Lassie, can you just be quiet! No more barking!” Sometimes, I do. If I could just teach her to bark in an inside voice, I would be very happy.
She has a cousin who is not a doodle and has the same blessing….her barking drives Uncle Joe crazy…LOL
