Today was house cleaning day. Or better put, Motorhome cleaning day! I don’t reckon I can remember the last time we had an actual cleaning day in our RV. Perhaps a month ago? So today, we decided that this was the day.
It took us three hours, and I am proud to report that our tiny home has cleaned up nicely! It is easier to clean an RV than clean a house because a smaller home equals less space to clean. However, on the other hand, it takes less mess and less things not put away to make the RV look cluttered and untidy!
One strategy we use to keep our space functional is to periodically cull unused items. Anything we haven’t used for six months or longer is given to charity. Also, when we buy new things, we purchase quality over quantity.
Every item in our Motorhome has a specific home. That is not to say, we do not ever come home after a long day and just drop stuff on the sofa and table. That does happen, and when it does, we eventually place those items in their proper place!
Living in a smaller space, we find that our needs are less. Our focus is not on what we have but on where we are and who we’re with. We love the excitement of exploring a new area or the comfort of just hanging out with friends and family.
Tonight, we are enjoying a quiet evening together, snuggled on the sofa watching a Star Wars movie on one of the Dish channels. That, and admiring our sparkling clean RV!
